Wills Park Pool Reopens Saturday In Alpharetta
The pool closed in August 2017 to undergo its first renovation since opening in 1987.

ALPHARETTA, GA — The city of Alpharetta will host a grand opening event to celebrate the completion of renovations made to the Wills Park pool.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 26, and will include music, games, prizes and, of course, swimming. The cost to attend the celebration is $5 per person, but is free of charge for season pass holders.
The renovation project, which began in August 2017, consists of a 6,000-square-foot pool house, a 10-lane competition pool with diving boards, a 5,600-square-foot leisure pool and the addition of shade pavilions and other amenities. The leisure pool includes zero-depth entry, interactive play stations, space for open play and classes, and a water slide with plunge area.

New amenities also include updated locker rooms, expanded deck space and a renovated pool house. Updates to the pool house included the addition of training rooms for lifeguards and staff, and renovated shower facilities.

Alpharetta city leaders awarded a $5.47 million contract to renovate the pool and aquatic center, the first update since its construction in 1987. Sunbelt Builders is the construction firm that built the project designed by Stevens & Wilkinson.
“It’s exciting to see our work on the Wills Park aquatic center become a reality,” said Tanya Richard, senior architect at Stevens & Wilkinson. “This new center will provide Alpharetta with a premier swimming experience and give families and competition swimmers alike a place to swim."
The pool is located at 1815 Old Milton Parkway.
