Winter Storm Cleanup Could Take 2 Months In Milton
The city said it's working through the procurement process and once that's complete, it could take up to 60 days to remove debris.

MILTON, GA -- The city of Milton will soon begin removing debris in the public right of way due to the December winter storm, a process it said could last well into the new year. Milton notes the storm, which blanketed North Fulton Dec. 8-9, left debris "scattered" throughout the right of way in the city.
As many Patch readers know, Milton has limited in-house public works staff and contracts with third-party vendors to provide services such as landscaping and roadway work. This means that cleanup of debris left by the snowstorm may require up to 60 days to complete, as staff members will need to "complete the necessary procurement steps before work can begin," the city added.
Staff members are in the process of completing this administrative hurdle and temporarily pushing any debris back from the white line for safety reasons. Once the administrative process is done, crews will make their way through Milton to remove debris.

Much like the cleanup from Hurricane Irma, the city's cleanup efforts are focused on debris located in the public right-of-way and not on private property. Should you have questions, reach out to the city at info@cityofmiltonga.us.
