ALPHARETTA, GA -- The basics of vegetable gardening will be the topic of a workshop scheduled for next week at Alpharetta City Hall.

The workshop will be presented from 7 p.m. to 8:38 p.m. Wednesday, March 16 at City Hall, located at 2 Park Plaza.

Seating is limited, and pre-registration is encouraged. You can register for the class by calling 678-297-6200 by March 15.

First-time vegetable gardeners and those looking to improve on their skills can take advantage of this free program.

Local master gardeners will explain tips and tricks to make the most out of your backyard vegetable garden, including soil preparation, garden planning, seasonal planting, mulching, weed control, pest control and fertilizing.
