1 Dead, 1 Injured In Athens Shooting

ATHENS, GA — A woman died, and a teen was injured, after a Rolling Ridge Drive shooting around 12:30 a.m. Friday, according to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.

Patrol officers heard several gunshots while in the area of Jefferson Road, police said. A 911 caller reported a shooting near Rolling Ridge and Kathwood Drive, police said.

The 17-year-old boy had serious injuries while the 20-year-old woman died at the hospital, police said. Both were from Athens.

Details of suspects are unknown.
