4 Charged With Armed Robbery In Athens

ATHENS, GA — Four people are facing charges in connection with an armed robbery Thursday in the 400 block of Minor Street, police said.

Athens-Clarke County Police said the incident happened around 2:15 p.m.

Details were limited, but police said the suspects were found in the 700 block of US-29 in Athens. Stolen property was recovered, but police did not detail the property.

Police said the following people were arrested on charges of aggravated assault, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime: Emory Simmons, 22, of Athens; Zachariah Roberts, 18, of Colbert; Sherod Porter, 22, of Hull; and Raequan Thomas, 22, of Athens.

The investigation remains active, police said.
