A New Demolition Application in Five Points Neighborhood in Athens Clarke County
The house is more than 50 years old, so it can't be bulldozed immediately.
Another demolition application has been filed with the Athens Clarke County Planning Department.
This application targets the 1935 house and garage at 545 West Cloverhurst. It's a few doors from of a huge house that went up at the corner of West Cloverhurst and McWhorter.
According to paperwork filed with Athens Clarke County, the owners of the house are Mike and Ann Bascle. The application says of the house:
"Tax information indicates 1935 as the construction date of the house and garage. The property is listed as contributing property in the West Cloverhurst / Springdale National Register Historic District and the neighborhood is denoted in the Comprehensive Plan as a potential local historic district."
