"It'll probably be a matter of weeks until it's completed," Brown said. "It involves a lot of files. We haven't really discovered anything new."
Brown said although he could not say why police began investigating Shockley, there are systems at place in the police department to notify officials of illicit use of work computers.
"I can't think of anything similar to this happening," Brown said. "We don't search computers generally, but we have a filter that does a variety of things. It filters out junk mail and it alerts our staff to inappropriate websites and things of that nature. Usually our IT staff will get a notification."
