Local business owner Airee Hong hopes to create a high end vintage haven with her new store, Agora Vintage.
"Our goal for the store is to definitely be a haven for creative artists and people who love vintage to showcase what they have,"Hong said. "We take things on consignment from artists and definitely encourage people to come in for inspiration and ideas."
The store differs from its sister business, Agora on Clayton Street, in its focus. Located on Broad Street, Agora Vintage acts as a museum, displaying creative pieces from local artists.
"It was really important to me to have a business in Athens," Hong said. "My husband and I love the city so much and people said that we could have gone anywhere like New York or Atlanta but we wanted to stay in Athens so we now have two stores in downtown Athens."
The store is open for business but will have a grand opening on August 17.
