Alleged Drug Deal at Denny Towers Leads to Arrest

An older Athenian took bold measures this past weekend, by allegedly purchasing illegal drugs in the parking lot of Denny Towers, an Athens government building.

Restee Buford, 71, was charged with possession of cocaine and criminal trespassing at Denny Towers. He is a resident of Denny Towers

Police were alerted to a suspicious vehicle in the senior living parking lot. Inside the car, Frederick Lee Smith, 34, of Athens was selling cocaine out of his red Ford Expedition.He was arrested and barred from the Denny Towers property for two years.
