Another Movie Being Shot in Athens
Athens native Jamie Ponsoldt will shoot "The Spectacular Now" in Athens.
Remember a movie starring Clint Eastwood? That had several scenes shot in Athens in the Spring?
Another movie is coming to town, and this one will be shot in Athens. James "Jamie" Ponsoldt, a graduate of Cedar Shoals High School, Yale University and Columbia University, held a casting session on Wednesday at Cine, according to a story in the Athens Banner Herald.

Ponsoldt has made other movies, including Smashed, which won awards at Sundance. Shooting is expected to begin in late July.
