The woman died after her car went into an Athens intersection and collided with a second vehicle.
ATHENS, GA — An 85-year-old Crawfordville woman died after being involved in a two-car crash at the intersection of Nowhere Road and Freeman Drive earlier this month, Athens-Clarke County Police said Thursday.
Police said Julia Hampton was driving a 2003 Lincoln Town Car around 2 p.m., May 6, northbound on Freeman. The Town Car went into the intersection of Nowhere and hit a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. Police did not say what caused the car to go into the intersection.
Hampton was taken to a local hospital for treatment and died Wednesday of her injuries, police said.
