Athens Creative Theatre Offers Theatre Classes

The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department will offer two theatre programs this winter.

Athens Creative Theatre staff will be conducting the β€œBeginning ACTing Workshop” for participants ages 8-12. Students will use simple monologues, readers’ theatre skits, and improvisation to explore the benefits of drama. The program takes place Thursdays, January 15-February 19 from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.

The fee is $83 for ACC residents and $40 for non- residents.

β€œMonologues and More” for adult and teens with cognitive disabilities will use simple monologues, readers’ theatre skits, and improvisational scenarios to explore different emotional responses, build self-esteem and confidence. This program takes place Tuesday, January 13-February 17 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

Both programs take place at Quinn Hall (Memorial Park) located at 293 Gran Ellen Drive.
