Athens Man Charged In Shooting Of Bethlehem Juvenile: Sheriff's Office
The 18-year-old man was charged on suspicion of five counts of aggravated assault and other charges.
BETHLEHEM, GA — An 18-year-old Athens man was charged in connection with a Barrow County shooting that injured a juvenile, according to the Barrow County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities said Monday the juvenile was shot around 11:15 p.m. Friday at a shopping center in the 900 block of Loganville Highway in Bethlehem. The juvenile was being treated at a hospital, authorities said.
Edwin Emiliano Rodriguez-Pena was arrested by Barrow County deputies at the scene and was charged on suspicion of five counts of aggravated assault, two counts of aggravated battery, one count of criminal attempt to commit murder and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, authorities said.

He was taken to the Barrow County Detention Center and is being held without bond, authorities said.
A motive in the shooting is unknown.
