Athens Man Facing Gun, Drug Charges After Police Receive Citizen Tips
The man was accused of trafficking fentanyl, cocaine and other drugs while having two concealed guns.
ATHENS — A 29-year-old Athens man is facing gun and drug charges after police say officers found concealed handguns and various narcotics in his vehicle.
Athens-Clarke County Police said Friday Christopher Allen was arrested around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at a North Avenue convenience store after authorities received tips from local residents.
Authorities searched Allen's vehicle and found two concealed handguns, about $1,200 and "a collection of narcotics," police said.

Allen was charged on suspicion of trafficking in fentanyl, trafficking in cocaine, possession of schedule I drug with intent to distribute, possession of schedule II drugs, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes, two counts of possession of a firearm by convicted felon and possession of stolen property-firearm, police said.
He was arrested by Athens-Clarke County Police with the help of the Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, police said.
