On August 29 at 1:13 a.m, an officer on patrol observed a suspicious vehicle maneuver by
the driver on West Broad at Rocksprings Street. The officer followed the vehicle as it turned
onto Campbell Lane. After an investigation, it was determined that the driver, Sentwali
Moyanda Martin, 36, Athens, had a suspended/revoked license. The owner of the
vehicle, who was not in the vehicle at the time, gave permission for police to search the
vehicle. A white, powdery substance was located and field tested positive for cocaine.
As officers attempted to place Martin under arrest, he jerked his arm away and ran a
short distance from the officers, but turned around and returned. Martin was charged
with Possession of Cocaine, Suspended/Revoked License, and Obstructing or
