Athens Summit for Bloggers, Businesses + Brands

The social network of the South, The Southern Coterie, is delighted to announce the first Summit Series event in Athens, Georgia. After a successful, inspiring, and educational trip to Jekyll Island, The Southern Coterie founders, Whitney Long and Cheri Leavy, will bring their talents to Athens on August 1st. 

Long & Leavy invite southern creatives and small southern brands to join the best of the southern blogging and media community for learning and networking opportunities at this niche gathering.  The Georgia Museum of Art and Georgia Theatre will provide the backdrop for a day full of educational sessions, panel discussions and keynote presentations from well-known southern names and social media leaders. 

The Athens, GA Summit Series will include:

×        “Cocktails and Conversations” presented by Southern Living and Epting Events led by Southern Living Executive Food Editor Hunter Lewis with Executive Chef of Farm 255 and season 9 Top Chef contestant, Whitney Otawka and Holeman & Finch Partner and James Beard Foundation Awards “Outstanding Bar Program” semifinalist, Greg Best.  Featuring craft cocktails from the Southern Living test kitchen and creative comfort food from Epting Events

×        Educational sessions covering social media and marketing strategies with: Shameeka Ayers of The Broke Socialite, social media strategist Jennifer Bilbro, and Twitter’s Robin Wheeler

×        Inspiring sessions from award winning advertising agency Wier/Stewart principals titled “Finding Happiness in Your Work,” a primer on styling and staging for great photography with the founders of lifestyle blog Beauty Everyday, and a session on taking brands to film and television from Ashley Epting of Epting Events

×        A networking breakfast, lunch and live music
