Weaver D's Fine Foods is up for sale, according to a Facebook post.

Last fall, Weaver D's Fine Foods restaurant on East Broad was teetering on the edge. Customers streamed into the popular restaurant and things seemed to right themselves. Today, it seems, the place may topple over.

We are still open up for business but the business and building are up for sale as of today.
The restaurant's slogan, Automatic for the People, is the title of an album by REM, another Athens favorite. When the band broke up last year, Weaver was one of those quoted often about the situation.

Weaver has received honors for his soul-foot cooking, from the prestigious James Beard Foundation and the Southern Foodways Alliance.
