It’s time for back-to-school, and while parents are busy checking off their students’ school supply list, the Athens-Clarke County Library reminds families that the PINES library card is an essential tool for school.
To encourage everyone to sign up for a free library card, the library announces a drawing this month. Between now and Wednesday, August 21, anyone who signs up for a new library card at Athens-Clarke County Library or uses their existing card to check out materials can enter the drawing to win a family four-pack of tickets to the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta!

Entry forms are available in the library’s Children’s Department, Teen Services Department and at the Circulation Desk. In-person entry is required, and only one entry per library card is allowed. The tickets are valid for any current or upcoming performance at the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta until November 3, except for “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” which is exempt from discounts and passes. For information at the Center for Puppetry Arts and details on its shows, visit http://www.puppet.org/perform/family.shtml.
The PINES library card grants you full access to thousands of books and other materials, along with online databases, test preparation sites and downloadable eBooks and audiobooks through the Athens-Clarke County Library’s website. Whether you’re working on an elementary school science project, researching a college term paper, or even kicking back to relax with the latest teen books, we’ve got you covered. Best of all, a library card is FREE!
