Blacksmithing Workshop
Atlanta artist Andrew Crawford conducted an open workshop at UGA.
On Friday, the Lamar Dodd School of Art and Assistant Professor Mary Hallam Pearse hosted an open workshop on blacksmithing at the Jewelry and Metalwork studio in the Cedar Street Art Annex on campus. Conducting the workshop was Andrew T. Crawford, an Atlanta artist and metal sculptor who is known for creating a variety of functional objects, ornamental ironwork and industrial fabrication.
Some of Crawford's work is in the permanent collection of the , and in an exhibition of garden gates currently at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia. Crawford and Pearse will present the 2011 Johnstone Lecture, "Nature as Inspiration in Art," at the Botanical Garden on Tuesday evening, September 20th.
