Car Full of Passengers Hit and Hurt by Alleged Drunk Driver on North Avenue

A 23-year-old man from Lombardy Circle was driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla, heading south on North Avenue around 8pm on Wednesday. As he tried to turn left onto Old Hull Road, his car was struck in the passenger side by a 1991 Volvo 240 driven by Nathaniel Edwards, 19, of Nicholson. The Toyota driver and his passengers, a 14-year-old boy, a one-year-old girl, and two 12-year-old girls, all of whom live on Lombardy Circle, were transported to Athens Regional. Edwards was arrested and charged with DUI, Underage Possession/Consumption of Alcohol, and three counts of Serious Injury by Vehicle.

Members of the Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 438 First St on February 13. A quantity of oxycodone and cash were seized. Quarice Tucker was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule II Drug with Intent to Distribute and Possession with Intent to Distribute within 1,000’ of Public Housing. Brittany Meadows was also arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule II Drug.

Officers responded to an alarm at a Bridgewater Circle residence around 9am on February 13. Forced entry was found. When the resident arrived ,it was determined a TV and video game systems valued at $601 had been stolen.

A Morningview Drive resident reported that a vacant Arch Street residence was burglarized between 6pm on February 12 and 8:30am on February 13. Nothing is known to be missing. 

Around 6:20pm on February 13 officers responded to a complaint of suspicious males in the Westchester Drive area. Two black me were seen walking behind homes, knocking on doors. An officer was flagged down by a man who said the door to his residence had been kicked in. Officers cleared the residence and determined it had been burglarized. Two other residents reported that a laptop, a computer, and papers valued at $2,001 had been stolen. One of the men  wore a blue windbreaker with blue basketball shorts; the other wore a black or blue jacket and jeans.

Officers responded to a burglary that had just occurred at an Indiana Ave residence. Two men were seen running from the house carrying items with possible electrical cords dragging behind them. They waited in a nearby wood line until a 4-door silver vehicle drove up and possibly picked them up. They were described only as having an athletic build and wearing dark clothing. No contact was made with the listed property owner so it is unknown what was stolen. This occurred around 7:20pm on February 13.
