Car Hits Pedestrian, Once, Twice, Then Drives Away

A 63-year-old woman from Faulkner Street was walking northbound at the eastern edge of the parking lot of Kroger, 2301 College Station Road, around 11:05pm on July 8.
A maroon vehicle, possibly a Ford Explorer, struck her from behind and knocked her down, causing her to go up under the vehicle. The driver paused, and then accelerated forward, running over the pedestrian again.
The vehicle fled northward through the parking lot. EMS responded and transported the woman to Athens Regional Medical Center where she was treated for an injury to her leg.
There was no further description given of the vehicle. There was no description given of the driver.
