At 8:06am on July 3, Jeffery Bernard Foote, 49, of Garnett Ward Road in Hull, was traveling westbound on GA 72/Hull Road, driving a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer.
At the intersection with Old Hull Road, Foote attempted to turn left onto Old Hull, and was struck by a 2002 Acura TL traveling eastbound on GA 72/Hull Road operated by Roberto Noe Castro Mejia, 26, of Benedict Court in Athens.
Following the collision, the Blazer overturned. Both drivers were transported by ambulance for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Foote was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way Turning Left. Mejia was arrested and charged for Driving Without a Valid Driver’s License.

At 2:44pm, July 3, a 22-year-old woman from Rustwood Drive in Athens was traveling northbound on Tallassee Road near the intersection with Quailwood Drive when her 1992 Acura Legend left the right side of the roadway. She overcorrected, crossed over both lanes of traffic, left the roadway and overturned several times. The driver was transported by EMS for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. A two-year old male passenger was also treated by EMS for injuries at the scene. The driver was cited for Failure to Maintain Lane.
