Car Stolen While It Was Being Warmed Up: Police

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

An officer met with a Hull Road man at Athens Regional Medical Center. The man said he went out to retrieve an item from his vehicle. A vehicle pulled up and three people he knows exited. He said he does not remember what happened after that but he thinks he was knocked out. A person at his residence said the man returned inside and he was bleeding from his mouth. The friend then transported him to the hospital. This occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 15.

Drive Tech, 1150 Barber St, was burglarized between 12 p.m. Jan. 14 and 10:30 a.m. Jan. 15,. An extension cord valued at $75 was stolen. A trailer on the property was also burglarized but nothing is known missing at this time.

The pastor of the Korean Presbyterian Church, 2925 Barnett Shoals Road, said he stopped by to check on something around 10:20 p.m. on Jan. 15. As he pulled in the parking lot, he saw an older gray Ford minivan backed into a parking space. He descried the driver as an older white female in her 60’s with gray hair. He said he was in the building for about 10 minutes. When he exited, he saw another vehicle (no description given) next to the van. Both vehicles left quickly as he approached. It was determined space heaters had been removed from the building. They were recovered outside the building.

THEFT BY TAKING

A 1995 Honda Accord was stolen from in front of a Spring Valley Road residence while a woman was letting it warm up before leaving for work. It is green, with Georgia tag PBX8368, and is valued at $2,000. This occurred between 6:10 a.m. and 6:20 a.m. on January 16.
