Conserve, Value and Protect Plants
The State Botanical Garden holds Plant Conservation Day to promote awareness and education.

Today, on the last day of public school in Athens, the State Botanical Garden of Georgia wants you to come celebrate Plant Conservation Day in the Visitors’ Center from 3 to 5 p.m.
The event is part of a global celebration to preserve, protect and conserve plants. Plant Conservation Day was started by the Association of Zoological Horticulture. Come join the garden’s conservation staff to learn how they work to protect plants.
At 3:15, 3:45 and 4:15, there will be readings from Dr. Seuss’s book “The Lorax,” which has themes of environmental stewardship and responsibility. At 4, there’s a tour of the threatened and endangered section of the international garden.
