Construction Progressing Quickly on Kroger at Trail Creek

Construction is progressing quickly on the Kroger and other stores set to open at Trail Creek Village by September. 

The new Kroger Marketplace at Hull Road and U.S. 29 North will be about 120,000 square feet and include a variety of up-scale features: a Starbucks, Fred Meyer Jewelry, a drive-through pharmacy and a gas station, according to Kroger.

In addition, there will be 30,000 square feet of retail in adjacent buildings -- two retailers who have already signed leases are Great Clips and Lee Nails, according to the Athens Economic Development Department. 

The Kroger itself will open in late August if construction continues at pace.

A Twitter photo from a June 3 event for the development company seems to hint that a Shane's Rib Shack will be among the retailers.
