Crime Blotter--A Fight and More Stealing

The information in thie story comes from the ACC Police Department. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

Officers responded to a fight-in-progress call in the North Avenue and Willow Street area.  Officers met with a man who told them he was attacked by two black males on North Avenue who attempted to take his backpack.  The man wasn’t sure how he had gotten a small cut on his hand. There was broken glass on the ground in the area where the man said the incident occurred, and this may have cut him. The man didn’t cooperate with the officers and gave them various different stories. Officers spoke with a witness whose statements contradicted those of the victim’s. Officers were able to identify one of the involved parties who stated that he was in a verbal altercation with the victim over a girl when the man with the backpack yelled a racial slur at him. There was an uninvolved second man who became very upset with the backpack man and went after him. Backpack man ran to a nearby residence and began banging on the door while yelling for them to call 911.  No contact was made with the second man and the investigation continues into this alleged incident.
