Crime Blotter--Break-in at the YWCO in Athens, Ga.

Around 2:40am on January 15 officers responded to a burglary that had just occurred at the YWCO on Research Drive.. Officers made contact with the custodian. He told them that when he arrived at work, he found a man in the office area. When confronted, the suspect exited the building and ran toward Cambridge Apartments. The video surveillance system revealed that two white men had entered the building. They rummaged through the office area and inside closets. One suspect appears to be 5’9” to 5’11”, thin build, wearing a black hoodie, checkered shorts, and flat-soled shoes or sandals. The other suspect appears to be 5’7” to 5’9”, thin build, wearing a white t-shirt, dark pants, and a white trucker style hat. Bicycle tracks were located near the building. Nothing is known to be missing at this time.

A-OK, a restaurant at 154 College Ave, was burglarized between 9am on January 13 and 8:15am on January 14. Food items valued at $1 were stolen.

A woman living on Coleridge Court told police she is moving from a Mitchell Bridge Road location. It was burglarized between 7:30pm on January 11 and 9:15am on January 14. A laptop valued at $400 was stolen.  

A Crows Nest Court residence was burglarized between 12 noon on January 3 and 5:35pm on January 14. Video game consoles and controllers, video games, and TVs were stolen. The total value was $5,350.
