Crime Blotter — Damaged Doors, Stolen TVs and Even More Stolen TVs

Athens Clarke County Police found damaged doors Wednesday in an apartment complex that had been burgled earlier in the week, according to an report.
Officers were performing a house check in Aspen Heights, on Barnett Shoals Road, when they noticed damaged rear doors on four vacant apartments in the area. The complex, which is still under construction, reported the theft of 11 TVS earlier in the week.
When police were checking the apartments they noticed suspects had attempted to enter through a side window, which was similar to the case with the stolen TVs.

Construction workers told police they had checked that each door and window was locked the night before. Police also chekced the area at about 4:30 a.m.
No suspects were named. The investigation is ongoing.

A woman's stolen TV was recovered on a trail behind her house Wednesday after her house was broken into, according to an Athens-Clarke County Police report.
The woman reported that after returning to her house on the 100 block of Acadia Drive, she noticed the TV in the living room was missing. She then said she ran out of the house and called 911.
After walking through the house and checking outisde, police discovered a flat screen TV on a small trail behind her house. The victim stated that the TV was taken from her livingroom.
Police also found a pair of white socks belonging to her husband, which police believed were used to carry the TV without leaving prints. Officers also reported the house was most likely entered through the back entrance.
Two TVs, including the recovered one were taken from the house. In addition, a game system was found laying behind the sofa. No prints were recovered from any of the items.
The suspect named was a juvenile. The investigation is ongoing.
