Crime Blotter--House Robbed on Cedar Shoals Drive

Burglars came calling at a house on Cedar Shoals Drive between 1 and 2:30pm on Tuesday, and they left with $1,100 worth of electronics, video game systems and a video game, according to an Athens Clarke County Police report.

A girl was in the house, home from school with an illness. Around 1pm, two young black men knocked on the door, asking for a "Mike." They left when she told them Mike didn't live there. The girl described the men as being in their 20s, one wearing a black shirt and the other a brown shirt, the report said.

A short time afterwards, the girl heard a noise downstairs which she thought was the air conditioner or ice maker. But, according to the report, it was actually burglars.

When the girl's mother came home, she discovered the electronics were missing. The mother told police she had seen the two suspects in the area earlier, riding in a Ford that looked like it was from the 1980s or the 1990s.
