Crime Blotter--rape investigation; lots of stealing

The Athens-Clarke County Police department is investigating a reported rape that occurred at a residence in northern Athens-Clarke County. The twelve-year old victim was staying at a relative’s home when she was approached by the suspect, who is an acquaintance of the relative, and taken into a bedroom. The suspect proceeded to undress the victim and she was then sexually assaulted. There were no weapons involved and the suspect was not seriously injured physically.
ACCPD responded to the area of Paris and Waddell Streets regarding a person who had been stabbed. Upon arrival, they met with a man who had a stab wound to his upper left arm. He was treated at the scene by EMS, but refused further medical attention. There was no information provided by the victim concerning a suspect or a motive for the stabbing.

A representative of the Noon Cobb Group, 425 North Lumpkin Street, reported that persons unknown had entered their meeting room and had stolen a large safe and an unknown quantity of cash. There were no signs of forced entry.
A member of the SAE Fraternity, 247 Pulaski Street, reported that someone had entered the house through the front door and had taken a laptop computer belonging to a young man from Atlanta. Video footage shows an unknown black man entering the unlocked front door at 9:26am and leaving with the laptop computer a short time later.

A young woman reported that her Hughes Street residence had been entered through an unlocked door and $240.00 cash had been taken from an interior room.
Between noon on July 19 and 10:30am on August 2 an attempt was made to enter a Holmes Avenue residence. Chairs valued at $60 were stolen from the patio.
A 16-year old victim said she was in the back yard of a Pepperidge Lane residence around 2:30pm on August 2 when she heard someone knock on the front door. She went in, leaving her baby in the back yard, to answer the door. When she opened the door a white/Hispanic male was there and he asked for a cigarette. At that time she heard the baby cry. She told him to hold on. She left the door open with the man standing outside. She got the baby and when she came back inside, she saw the man attempting to kick in a bedroom door. When he saw the victim, he ran out the front door. Nothing is known missing at this time. The suspect was described as having greasy black hair and wearing a black baseball cap, yellow shirt, blue jeans, and white Air Force one sneakers.
A man reported that his West Broad Street residence was burglarized between 1am and 7:30am on August 2. A TV with detachable DVD player and food items were stolen. The total value was $70.
Ebenezer Community Ministry, 883 Reese St, was burglarized between 5pm on August 1 and 8:20am on August 2. Diapers, hygiene items, and food items were stolen. No values were given.
An Arch Street residence owned by a Hull woman was burglarized between noon and 6pm on August 2. Nothing is known to be missing at this time.
A Derby Street residence was burglarized between 7pm and 11pm on August 2. Bicentennial coins and $2 bills were stolen. A possible suspect was named.
A woman reported that someone entered her vehicle between 10:30pm on August 1 and 8am on August 2 while it was parked at her South Milledge Avenue residence. A book bag and laptop with a total value of $1,620 were stolen.
