Crime Blotter: The T in Thanksgiving Means Theft in Athens, Ga.

Around 11:35am on November 24, police officers responded to a complaint of sexual battery at a Danielsville Road convenience store. A description of the male suspect was given. The first officers to arrive had contact with him. An investigation revealed the man touched a 15-year old female on the buttocks. Derrick Donnell Mattox, 34, Hemlock Drive, was arrested and charged with sexual battery.

A man said he heard someone knocking of the side door of his Live Oak Place residence around 7:25pm on November 24. When the door was pushed open, he went to check and saw a black man. The resident said he yelled at the man, who fled into a wooded area. He was unable to give a description of the suspect. 

A Woodcrest Drive residence was burglarized between 4pm on November 17 and 1pm on November 24. A TV, amplifiers, guitar, iPhone charger, MacBook charger, microphone, and DVD player were stolen. The total value was $2,660. 

A woman from Dawsonville reported that two vacant Tallassee Road residences burglarized between 6pm on October 24 and 4pm on November 24. A watch was stolen from one; nothing is known missing from the other. 

Between 10am on November 20 and 6:15pm on November 24 a Vine Street residence was burglarized. A TV, game consoles, external hard drive, cash, and prescription medication were stolen. The total value was $1,161.  

A game system valued at $300 was stolen from a Pauldoe Street residence between 6pm and 7:30pm on November 24.  

A First St residence was burglarized between 7pm and 11:30pm on November 24. Nothing is known missing at this time. 

A man reported that his Old Princeton Road residence was burglarized between 3:30pm on  November 19 and 10:50pm on November 24. Nothing is known to be missing at this time.

Between 12:20am on November 24 and 12:15pm on November 25, a South Milledge Avenue residence was burglarized. Nothing is known missing at this time.

A Highland Park Drive residence was burglarized between 10:30pm on November 24 and 12:30am on November 25. Nothing is known missing at this time.

A man reported that his Oconee Street residence was burglarized between 4:30pm on November 24 and 1:15am on November 25. A rifle, TV, video game system, laptop, and gym bag were stolen. The total value was $2,435.

Between 10am on November 24 and 1:30pm on November 25, an Old Princeton Road residence was burglarized. A router, laptop, and book bag were stolen. The total value was $1,315.

A woman told police that when she arrived at her Lavender Road residence around 12:45am on November 25 she saw the shadow of a possible male subject looking out the front window. A friend who was with the resident saw someone dressed in black run from the residence and jump the fence in the back yard. The only thing known missing was a necklace. Its value wasn’t given.  
A Tilson Road residence was burglarized between 6pm on November 24 and 1:45am on November 25. A laptop and watch with a total value of $800 were stolen. 

Game consoles, a laptop, and video games were stolen from a Winter Hill Drive residence. This burglary occurred between 8pm on November 24 and 2:50am on November 25. The total value was $1,481. 

Between 1:30pm on November 24 and 3:30am on  November 25, a West Broad St residence was burglarized. A TV, laptops, video game consoles, shoes, rims, and clothing were stolen. The total value was $30,948.

A man reported that his vehicle entered between 5pm on November 23 and 10am on November 24 while it was parked at his Spring Valley Road residence. Two thousand thirty eight dollars was stolen from the console.

A vehicle owned by a man from Greenville, SC, was entered between 11pm on November 23 and 5pm on November 24 while it was parked at a Martin Luther King, Jr., Pkwy location. A GPS, laptop, and suitcase of clothing were stolen. The total value was $1,700.

Between 7am and 1:30pm on November 24 a 2009 Honda scooter was stolen from a North Ave residence. The scooter is black and silver and valued at $1,500.
