Crime Blotter--Man Shoots Himself in the Foot

The information in this story comes from the Athens Clarke County Police Department. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

Officers went to St Mary’s Hospital in response to a shooting.  The victim, Brandon Barnett, said that he had been shot in the foot by unknown individuals in The Park at West Broad apartment complex. Further investigation led officers to contact the persons who dropped Barnett off at the hospital, Kenishawana Hull and Robert Hull, who were charged with Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana and Tampering with Evidence. Barnett later said he shot himself in the foot with a rifle, leading to charges of False Report of a Crime.

A man reported that someone entered the shop behind his Commerce Road residence and a rifle and yellow 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle SS were taken.

A woman reported that her Berlin Street apartment was entered and her wedding ring was taken.

A man reported he was in the area af the store on Hawthorne Ave when he was confronted by a light skinned black male with no hair. The suspect asked for money and a physical altercation ensued. The man was not interested in police intervention and was irritated at the responding officers for asking questions.

A man reported that his vehicle was entered while it was parked in front of his Arch Street residence. Electronics and personal items were taken.
