A Fine Romance: Jewish Songwriters, American Songs, 1910-1965

Celebration the legacy of Jewish songwriters and their contributions to the American Songbook. Featured songwriters include Irving Berlin, George and Ira Gershwin, Jerome Kern, and more! This nationally touring exhibit will be on display at Congregation Children of Israel. There will be special programs in the community associated with the exhibit throughout January and February.

Exhibit opens to the public January 11, 2012 and continues through February.  Hours:  Mon.-Fri., 11:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M.;Sunday, 2:00-4:00 P.M.; or by appointment (call 706-613-3650, ext. 324).

Schedule of Events
The Athens-Clarke County Library and the Congregation Children of Israel (http://www.ccisrael.org/fine_art/) present this traveling exhibit to the community.  Featuring lively and striking images from Broadway musicals, classic films, posters, and personal collections, this museum-quality exhibit tells the story of Jewish songwriters and their shaping of the American songbook. Come immerse yourself in the melodies and learn more about beloved classic songs and the composers behind them with these special events!
