Join us on Saturday, June 18th between 6-8 pm for an open house viewing of Manda McKays artwork!
Manda McKay is a medical illustrator turned painter living in Athens, Georgia. Go Dawgs! She paints from life, setting up a stage and spotlight on her kitchen table, and uses objects collected from the woods behind her house or purchased from the grocery store.
Manda uses an alla prima technique, meaning that the painting is completed in one session. She also uses eco-friendly products, including non-toxic oil paints, and natural turpenoid instead of harmful solvents.

“My still lifes question our ideals of beauty and sexuality by combining natural objects into suggestive new forms. Various items become shorthand for specific body parts. To warp and old-fashioned genre into satire is funny to me.”
