Megan Kaminski will be reading her work as part of the Avid Poetry Series on January 27, 2012 at 6:30pm. Through her poems, Kaminski discovers what nature does and works out how the man-made can feel natural or pretend to.
Megan Kaminski is the author of one book of poetry, Desiring Map (Coconut Books 2012), and five chapbooks of poetry, including most recently Favored Daughter (Dancing Girl Press), Collection (Dusie 2011) and Carry Catastrophe (Grey Book Press 2010). She teaches creative writing at the University of Kansas, where she also directs the Undergraduate Creative Writing Exchange and the Undergraduate Reading Series. Her work has appeared in such places as American Letters & Commentary, CutBank, Denver Quarterly, Post Road, Puerto del Sol, and Third Coast. She also curates the Taproom Poetry Series in downtown Lawrence, KS.
