Black Theatrical Ensemble: "They Sing Christmas Up in Harlem"

The Black Theatrical Ensemble will perform "They Sing Christmas Up in Harlem," an adaptation of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. This production takes place during the Harlem Renaissance and uses Jazz music, urban flavor and African American vernacular English to set the scene. Ebenezer "Scratch" Scrooge, a ruthless loan shark, encounters the three Ghosts of Christmas and they teach him the true meaning of the holiday.

The curtain will go up on December 2 and 3 at 7:30 p.m. and on December 4 at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $7 for general admission and $5 for UGA students and are available at the Tate ticket window or by calling 706-542-8579. Discounts are availible for groups of 15 or more in advance.
