Despite being Georgia's smallest county, Athens-Clarke County punches above its weight when it comes to bird diversity with over 200 species recorded each year. This program will give tips on identifying our most commonly-encountered species by sight and ear, how to attract birds to your backyard, and highlight some local birding "hot spots." Featuring Dr. Richard Hall, assistant research scientist at UGA's Odum School of Ecology and Dr. Carole Ludwig, retired veterinary practitioner and avid bird watcher. Free and open to the public, in person at Lyndon House Arts Center, 293 Hoyt St., Athens, or online at www.boomersinathens.org. This program will be archived on the website. For information, visit www.boomersinathens.org one week before the program.
