Hidden Historical Gems: Washington, GA

Discover a side of Washington, GA you’ve never seen! We will tour the Baptist Church, be invited in to see a glimpse of history celebrated by families in a tour of private homes, tour the library (the oldest library still in use in the US), and tour the Fitzpatrick Hotel. We will then have lunch, southern buffet style, and finally make our way over to the Callaway Plantation. Here, we learn about the Callaway family and see a one room school house, log cabin, a two over two federal-style house as well as the plantation home. A history-lover’s dream! *Lunch is included in the price.

This class is $50 for CAL members. Pre-registration is required. Call (706) 549-4850 to sign up for the class and to sign up for CAL (Center for Active Learning). CAL requires a $25 annual membership fee.
