For many, the annual Athens Holiday Parade the first Thursday of December is a magical, not-to-be-missed night.
We couldn’t agree more, and we want to help you start the evening off right.
Kick off the festivities with a special holiday celebration at Avid Bookshop between 5:00pm and 6:30pm on December 1, 2011. Stop by on your walk downtown, or park near the bookshop (easier than parking downtown!) and drop by the store for a treat before heading to the parade.
We’ll have hot chocolate, coffee, and tea to warm you up and even a holiday story or two to get you in the mood for all the floats and holiday music downtown.
Not into the parade? No worries! We’ll be open our usual hours (‘til 9pm on Thursdays) and have two very special poets reading starting at 7pm for the Avid Poetry Series. There’s something for everyone here at Avid Bookshop.
