Ida Stewart, PhD creative writing student at UGA, will be having a release party for her first book of poetry, Gloss (Perugia, 2011), on October 20, 2011. The book recently won the 2011 Perugia Press Prize for a first or second book of poetry by a woman and was chosen from more than five hundred submissions! You are invited to come celebrate Ida's book, have a glass of wine or coffee, and listen to Ida read from Gloss.
The release will be held on October 20th at 7:30 pm at Athens' newest bookstore, Avid Bookshop, at 493 Prince Avenue (adjacent to Firehall #2). The store will have copies of Gloss on the shelves for sale. Refreshments will be provided, and the event is free and open to the public. Ida's release also represents the first reading in the Avid Poetry Series, a new series of poetry readings at Avid Bookshop, which will occur throughout the fall and continue into Spring 2012.
