Nature-writing sessions
An on-going, informal nature-writing group meets Wednesday afternoons at the Athens Land Trust offices in Athens. Participants pay $5 each time they drop in; newcomers are always welcomed, and low-income participants may attend free. Proceeds benefit the Athens Land Trust.
The series, organized by writer/producer Pat Priest, features guest speakers each week who are talented nature writers of various forms: essays, non-fiction books, poetry, magazine-length how-to guides, and more. Attendees sometimes do timed bursts of writing they read aloud if they wish to share their work. Artists and photographers are also welcome to attend.
