Oconee Youth School of Performance will hold its annual Spring Showcase at the Classic Center Theater May 14-15. Shows are at 2 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Students ranging in age from pre-K through high school will perform musical theater pieces and dance numbers in a variety of styles from ballet to hip hop.
The Watkinsville-based performing arts studio, under the direction of Terra and Shane Hannon, has been named "Best Studio" six years in a row at the Access Broadway regional talent competition held in Atlanta. Members of the studio's dance and musical theater companies will perform several award-winning pieces at the showcase.
Tickets, priced at $12-16, will be sold in the lobby of the Classic Center Theatre a half-hour before each performance. For more information, call 706-769-2677 or see www.oypoysp.com/school.
