Plant Families of Georgia

This course will emphasize the importance of plant families as a way to understand the relationships among plants and to facilitate plant identification in the field. Students will study flower structure and other diagnostic characters of 10 of the most common plant families in Georgia, and apply that knowledge during an outdoors tour of the Garden’s plantings.
