Rivers Alive!

Georgia’s 21^st Annual Rivers Alive event is just around the
bend!

Our rivers and streams provide us with fresh drinking water,
important wildlife habitat, and recreational opportunities.  Help preserve our precious rivers and streams at
this year’s Rivers Alive volunteer cleanup event!

We are the solution to water pollution!

Last year 352 volunteers
collected over 2.57 tons (5,140 lbs) of
trash, 1,860 lbs of
recycling, and 100 tires during the clean-up
event!   This year our cleanup event in Athens will be on Saturday,
October 6^th, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Volunteer check-in is at Dudley Park on the corner of MLK PKWY and E. Broad
Street.  Volunteer Check-in starts at
8:00 AM. 

Volunteers should bring a reusable water
bottle and gloves, and wear long pants and closed toed shoes.

Lunch and entertainment will be provided
after the cleanup.  We hope to see you there!
