Saying Thanks: A Thanksgiving Writing Event with a Focus on the MBI

What:
You know how warm and fuzzy you feel when someone sends you a real letter in the mail? How special you feel when someone hands you a thank you note created with a pen and paper?

To celebrate this Thanksgiving, come to Avid to write a thank you note to someone who has made your life a little better. Was it your third grade teacher? Your mom? Your family doctor? You can write as many notes as you wish. We'll have cards and paper for sale at varying price points so this activity is affordable for all.

You bring the names and addresses of the people you want to send a thank you note to, and we'll send the letters for you on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Think of it: your recipients will have a nice treat in the mail to kick off the holiday season.

Now think... who are YOU going to thank?

You may have heard by now that the is closing in early 2012. For those of us whose lives have been positively impacted by the MBI, be it through mindfulness classes, appointments with Dr. Panico, laugh-a-yoga, tai chi in the park, or some other complementary care program, it's heartbreaking to see the MBI go. Let's write letters to ARMC and the practitioners/teachers at MBI to let them know just how special the place is to us. Who knows how powerful our words might be? Dare we hope that maybe the powers that be at ARMC might rethink their decision to close the MBI? It can't hurt to try!
