Tthe UGA Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication will sponsor a lecture by ESPN executive John A. Walsh in the University of Georgia Chapel. Walsh, executive vice president and executive editor of the multimedia sports network, will discuss “Sports and Journalism in the Age of the Internet, Talk Radio and Social Media.” His lecture will focus on the quality and public perception of sports in contemporary media including cable, talk radio, social networking and print.
Walsh is at UGA for a three-day campus tour as a visiting lecturer in sports journalism and society at the UGA Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. Grady College launched a sports journalism program this fall.
