The ATHICA Mystery Triennial Opening Reception

Come be a part of history and join the mystery with The ATHICA Mystery Triennial Opening Reception.

The ATHICA Mystery Triennial runs from Saturday, August 20 thru Sunday, September 18.

For a donation of $10 you can attend the first hour of the reception from 7 to 8 p.m. and get “first dibs” on these signature Athenian works.

If you know your Athens’ artists, you may be able to purchase a work by a member of R.E.M., Mary Porter or Art Rosenbaum for considerably less than it would go for in a commercial setting.

From 8 to 9:30 p.m., a unique exhibit celebrates Athens' artistic quality and diversity by giving visitors the rare opportunity to view over 120 local artists works, all in one space at one time. This part of the reception is free and open to the public. 

All the works have been created in the same size, 5.5” x  8.5,” either 2-D or 3-D.All works will be displayed anonymously. The mystery artists’ identities will be revealed initially only to those who purchase pieces by donating to ATHICA. A donation of $60 will purchase one work and $100 will purchase two. For a donation of $2, you can enter the ‘Who Dunnit’ Contest and show-off your knowledge of Athens’ artists by identifying the mystery artists. Those with the highest ‘Who Dunnit’ Quiz scores will be given official ‘I-Knew-Who-Dunnit’ pins on closing day, as well as gift certificates from local businesses like Advanced Massage Therapies and Don Byram Fine Art Framers.

Food will be donated for the opening reception by Five and Ten and other fine restaurants.
