"The Chronicles of Harris Burdick" Celebration will take place at Avid Bookshop on Sunday, November 13 at 1 p.m.
During the past month, students from Clarke Middle School, Chase Street Elementary School, Barrow Elementary School, Alps Road Elementary School, and Timothy Road Elementary School have been writing stories to enter in a national writing contest to celebrate the release of the new book, The Chronicles of Harris Burdick, by award-winning author Chris Van Allsburg. Van Allsburg's exceptional picture books are frequently used to teach narrative writing style to young writers.
Come out on Sunday to hear young writers read their submissions, meet some of the local author judges and view the beautifully painted windows of Avid Bookshop that honor the release of the new Harris Burdick book. This event will celebrate many young writers from the Athens area.
