Fatal Athens Crash Claims Life Of Hull Man, Injures Woman

ATHENS — A 28-year-old Hull man died Wednesday after being in a two-vehicle crash around 2:45 p.m. Monday at Danielsville Road, near Harve Mathis Road, Athens-Clarke County Police said Thursday.

Christopher Fleming was driving a 2008 Crown Victoria north on Danielsville, when he veered into the southbound lane and crashed into a 2022 Ford Edge that was driven by a 48-year-old Tennessee woman, police said.

Both Fleming and the woman were taken to a local hospital, where Fleming died of his injuries Wednesday. The woman suffered minor injuries in the crash, police said.

This is the 18th fatal crash this year in Athens, resulting in 19 deaths.
