Fresh Market Prospers Past First Week in Athens, Ga.
The new Fresh Market, which opened Oct. 10, is moving forward into their second week and reports positive feedback from the community so far.
Management at The Fresh Market, which opened their new location in Athens on Oct. 10, have reported positive community feedback and high traffic after their first week.
Scott Thomson, store manager at The Fresh Market, said Athens has been supportive of the grocery store.
"Everything's been going great," Thomson said. "We've received a lot of encouraging feedback from the community so far."

The store, which began out of North Carolina, sells meats and cheeses, fresh produce and baked goods, along with other specialty products. It offers local foods and also partners with the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia.
Thomson said he couldn't release profits or the number of customers for the first week, but said the store has been prosperous since its opening.

"We've been very busy so far with the first couple of weeks, and everything's been very positive," he said.
